Smart Ageing in the New Wealth of Wisdom Book

The cover of the WEALTH OF WISDOM book: Top Practices for Wealthy Families and Their AdvisorsWiley published the second Wealth of Wisdom book in September 2022. Subtitled Top Practices for Wealthy Families and Their Advisors, this edition builds on insights from the first book and extends them with practical advice and activities. Each chapter in the book is written by an internationally known practitioner in their field.

The book’s editors Tom McCullough and Keith Whitaker asked Susan J. Hyatt, Chair and CEO, Co-founder of Silver Sherpa, to write a chapter for the book. Titled Building a Smart Ageing Plan, Susan’s chapter has also been adapted into a video podcast.

The premise behind Susan’s chapter in the Wealth of Wisdom book is that because so many family members live longer than past generations, a smart ageing audit tool will allow readers to plan for their ageing. For example, one can consider what they have in place now and prepare for more specific what-if scenarios. A smart ageing audit allows for detailed planning around healthcare, wellness, and medical needs while considering personal preferences, financial preparedness, and end-of-life planning.
