Susan Hyatt, BSc (PT), MBA
CEO & Co-founder of Silver Sherpa
Susan is passionate about changing the way we look at ageing and is determined to put her extensive healthcare and international business expertise to work to provide a very different professional service model for her clients.
Susan is also President and CEO of HYATTDIO Inc., a global strategy company. As a corporate strategist and trusted advisor to governments and global technology companies, she has worked in the Asia Pacific, European, and Americas regions. She has held senior executive positions in both public and private sector organizations. Her success as a global entrepreneur combined with expertise in the provision, management, and governance of large multifaceted systems often puts her on the leading edge of transformational change. She was instrumental in the start-up of Canada’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) efforts. Canada Health Infoway Inc. was set up by the Government of Canada as an independent company collaborating with federal, provincial, and territorial governments to accelerate and facilitate the implementation of EHRs. Susan held several executive positions including Interim President and CEO. The Government invested $1.2Billion in the company’s formative stage.
Good corporate governance is a foundation of her work and she has served on Boards of Directors and Commissions in Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the United States. During a time of major renewal and a successful turnaround, she served on the Board of St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
In the US, she was appointed a founding member of the HIMSS Global Enterprise Task Force studying global EHR initiatives. The work earned Susan and her colleagues the Spirit of HIMSS Award for their contributions to global thought leadership. As a community activist, she recently completed four years of service as a founding Director of Citizens for Clean Air (C4CA), a coalition of over 100,000 concerned citizens committed to improving air quality.
Susan is a member of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives, the International Federation on Ageing and the Healthcare Information and Management Society (US). She was recently appointed to the Older Adult Advisory Committee by the Council of the Regional Municipality of Halton. She is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Halton, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, and the Verity Club in Toronto.
Susan holds post-graduate certification in Negotiations from Harvard Law School/ MIT and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialty in International Business from Griffith University, Australia. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy specializing in critical care/trauma from the University of Toronto and taught in the Faculty of Medicine for a number of years.
Urve Tamberg, BSc (PT), MBA, DHA
Vice President, Client Solutions
Urve is a skilled business leader who brings more than fifteen years of leadership and management experience in both the public and private sectors to her client work at Silver Sherpa. With a background that includes strategy, business development, B2B marketing and sales, and financial feasibility analysis, Urve has proven project management skills and a demonstrated ability to harmonize clinical priorities, individual goals, and financial objectives. Urve has worked for a Fortune 500 company, in hospitals, and CCACs. She launched the Research Administration Department at Credit Valley Hospital, and the Spine Institute at Trillium Health Centre. Urve has served as a Board Member with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Peel CCAC, and a local cooperative school. She has an M.B.A., a post-graduate diploma in Health Administration, and an undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy. Urve has also completed the Rotman Women in Business Initiative.
On the personal side, Urve spent many years navigating her elderly parents through the myriad of healthcare options, and understands the complex challenges caregivers face every day. She brings this compassion and dedication to her professional role at Silver Sherpa.
Vice President, Client Delivery
Janice brings over 20 years of healthcare and business experience combined with innovative problem solving and relationship management skills in both the public and private sectors.
Janice has managed engagements in hospitals and Academic Medical Centres in Canada and the United States including The Cleveland Clinic, The Washington University School of Medicine, and the Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania. Her expertise in business strategy, process redesign, and implementation has built a strong foundation for her work in developing the “ideal” patient experience and creating new models of care delivery. Janice holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Health Science in Health Administration from the University of Toronto. In addition, she is a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
